Beyond its ability to add delicate nuance to audio, Drifter is a versatile creative tool designed to push the character of your tracks in new directions. From the gentle pitch imperfections of an old tape machine to a wider, more pronounced wobble that captures the nostalgic feel of lo-fi recordings and vintage gear. Quickly emulate the unique essence of analog synths and worn-out vinyl. Push the settings further to generate a sense of groove, turning predictable loops into pulsating playgrounds. Stack up the modulations: Craft a gentle frequency shift, add gritty saturation, and push harmonics to the max. Drifter offers a complete spectrum of motion that feels completely musical.
At the heart of Drifter is a central control that’s tied to many different parameters under the hood. This makes it easy to get your audio drifting and shifting in double-quick time. Dial in the Depth to control how much modulation is applied globally. Adjust the Speed to set the rate of movement. Beneath these, dedicated sliders let you fine tune exactly how much modulation is applied to each target, giving you surgical control over audio transformations.
The bottom half of the interface contains individual controls for both Natural and Creative parameter shifting: Natural emulates the subtle oscillations of analog gear. Creative shifts things up a notch, introducing bolder changes to your sound.
Built on vector graphics, Drifter features a resizable interface. With live metering and an interpretive central visualizer, you can see processing being performed in real time. For those who like to experiment, contrast different processing chains with AB comparison and copy / paste. Use the undo / redo buttons to revert any changes. Activate Automatic Gain Compensation (AGC) to keep levels stable while your sound is modulated - perfect when you want controlled movement without large volume jumps.
VST, VST3, AU, AAX, both Intel and Apple Silicon-based CPUs as well as Native AAX format.
