The CAGED Strumming Guitar

The CAGED Strumming Guitar is a Kontakt instrument designed to deliver the natural sound and feel of acoustic guitar strumming—without the programming complexity. Built for songwriters, producers, and composers working in pop, CCM, folk, and inspirational genres, this instrument provides an intuitive way to add rich, rhythmic acoustic layers to your tracks.

Unlike typical sampled guitars that rely on individual notes or complex keyswitches, the CAGED Strumming Guitar is built on a unique philosophy: sample real strumming, not isolated notes. Each chord was recorded using popular open voicings from the most guitar-friendly keys—C, A, G, E, and D—capturing the full the most common voicings in popular genres.

Each strum is divided into two parts:

• The low strings, providing the roots of each chord.
  
  
• The high strings, providing the color and quality of each chord.
  

These layers can be combined in a full downstroke or triggered independently, allowing for incredibly lifelike performances that follow the natural accents of rhythm guitar: strong beats with full strums, and light embellishments with upstrokes or partial downstrokes.

Three intuitive playing modes (Normal, Latched, and Legato) let you decide how to control the instrument—whether you want full flexibility or simplicity. Add realism with built-in guitar slides, palm-muted strums, stereo width control, and body resonance impulse responses.
