Introducing the latest release in our new series of meticulously sampled and processed one-shot sample packs. Included in this pack are 768 Maracas and Shaker percussion samples. We carefully recorded and sampled four different drum machines, as well as 6 maracas and 11 shakers using 5 microphones. All of the samples have been expertly cut and tuned to ensure an exciting and smooth beat-making experience. They are sorted by notes and labeled with their corresponding keys.
The machines we used for recording included an old Roland R8M Rackmodule with various cards, the drums from a Novation Super Drumstation and Korg M1, and three classic Casio SA toypianos. We randomly named the audio files and ran all of the samples through different hardware and software effect chains, including an Aphex Aural Exciter Type C and Type C2 with the famous "Big Bottom," a Tascam Portastudio 424 Tapedeck, SSL Channel Strip and Compressor, XLN Retro Color RC-20, Softube Harmonics and Transients, Klanghelm SDDR, Abberant Sketch Cassette, D16 Decimort 2, Soundtoys Decapitator, Arturia's Tape Mello-Fi, VCA-65 and FET-76 Compressor, Steinberg Backbone and Magneto2, Waves J37 Tape, Abbey Road Saturation, and DBX 160.
After carefully listening to each sample, we selected the best ones from this random selection to ensure that the user has total flexibility in terms of mood and style, as well as quick access to the right percussion sound. We included a wide range of variations, including raw shakers and maracas with heavy transients on the attack, as well as more smooth and natural sounding ones. We also added phat ones with much sustain and tape saturation for an analog sound, dry, clean, sharp ones, as well as warm and analog sounding woodblocks and claves. Our goal was to provide as many different wooden percussions as possible for a variety of music genres.
