The X902 provides transparent and musical de-essing using precise frequency detection and dynamic reduction. It smoothly reduces excessive sibilance, high-frequency spikes, or cymbal harshness while preserving the overall timbre of the source. Adjustable threshold, frequency, and range controls allow precise tuning for any vocal or instrument.
Modeled on an iconic VCA-based design, the X902 brings the subtle yet powerful touch of analog de-essing to the modern DAW environment.
The module that inspired X902 was first introduced in the early 1980s and quickly became a staple in broadcast and recording studios worldwide. Its ability to control problem frequencies transparently made it the go-to de-esser for decades. Our plugin preserves that timeless performance while adding modern enhancements for precision and workflow speed.
