Sixsquare Cymbal

The genius of six square waves! When they designed the legendary Roland TR808 drum machine in the late 70ies, the wizard Roland engineers figured out that you could make a cymbal sound by mixing 6 square waves together and hi-pass filtering the result. It didn't really sound like a cymbal, but then it had a metallic ringing sound that didn't sound it like anything else either.

This set of NKIs give you that sound, but with full control. There are two layers, an initial hit, with various choices of waveform, and then the body of the "cymbal" sound - consisting of the mixture of square waves. You can select whether it plays chromatically across the entire keyboard, or pick which notes it plays and adjust the tuning manually.

The samples are subtly randomized, so they never sound exactly the same (You can make a stereo cymbal with two instances, one panned right and one panned left).

The three included NKIs (sixsquare_splash, sixsquare_metal and sixsquare_ring) use three different versions of the basic waveform, giving you three kinds of cymbal sound to choose from.
