Part of the S series of sampler keyboards from Casio, the SA-21 was first produced in 1997. It featured 32 mini-size keys, 5 drum-pads, 100 PCM voices, and 32 patterns. The sound is very unique, with lots of noise, grit, and aliasing: this is not your typical studio synth!!
However, because of the charm and character of the sounds, the SA-21 can add something unique to any production!
‘I personally used this keyboard for many productions, often mixing plucks, keys, and pads with acoustic recordings, like in my album Les Sessions Acoustiques, produced in 2007. Over the years, the small keyboard has become less and less reliable, and this is why I sampled all sounds and created a complete version as a Kontakt library :)

All voices were multi-sampled with the most detail possible.
Some of these voices are totally unique: you won’t get these sounds anywhere else!
The long-sustaining samples (strings, organs…) were looped within Kontakt with great care, ensuring great playability and maximum realism.
Three extra drum kits are also offered: the first one is a raw kit with all original percussive sounds from the keyboard. These raw sounds were processed with various studio gear to create two extra kits.
The user interface was designed to offer a huge amount of sonic possibilities, while still being very simple and intuitive.
Load one of the 100 original voices, and add inspiring effects, characterful filters, or superb custom IR reverbs. Choose how much dynamic range you need, from none (reproducing the keyboard’s original keyboard behaviour) to fully expressive!
Use the first preset (00_CASIO SA-21 init) for the most realistic reproduction of the original keyboard sound: RAW, GRITTY, and super FUN!!
