Plenty of vintage gear was used to create the samples and process them:
Premier 80s Steel Snare Drum: one of four hand-picked snare drums used for the acoustic snare samples. De-tuning and muffling was used to recreate typical meaty low snare sounds.
Microphones used for 80s snares:

The Kontakt user interface provides quick access to all sounds and simple, intuitive controls to transform and combine them.
